The following studies being conducted at the University of Washington School of Medicine are open to survivors of recent unwanted sexual experiences who meet certain eligibility criteria.


Project SARAH

  • Who is eligible: Survivors of unwanted sexual experiences that occurred in the past 12 months who live in Washington State, drink alcohol, and are experiencing distress related to the assault.

  • What it offers: Six 50-minute, twice-weekly therapy sessions (more information here).

  • Payment: $247 for filling out surveys.

The CARE Study

  • Who is eligible: Survivors of unwanted sexual experiences that occurred in the past 10 weeks who are experiencing distress. Survivors enroll with a support person of their choice (e.g., friend, family member, romantic partner).

  • What it offers: Two 90-minute telehealth sessions that aim to teach you and your support person how to communicate in ways that support your recovery.

  • Payment: $110 apiece for you and your support person for filling out surveys.
